Each year, the Centre of vacation La Petite Rouge greets approximately 3000 students along with 400 escorts (parents and teachers) for a 2 nights / 6 meals stay for our Green, Red or Snow School.

The teachers use our pre-established program to put finishing touches on their proposed camp activities depending on the season and their objectives.

The cheerful personnel from the Centre provides technical help and the material needed to apply the  program.

The children live one of the most enriching experience of their school year. They leave with a smile on their faces and their minds and hearts full of memories.

During their stay at The Centre La Petite Rouge, students first of all learn what community life is all about by having to share living quarters in a cottage. They have the feeling of living in their own little private house with friends. They are responsible for their own sports equipment throughout their entire stay and they also learn how to respect and manage their daily activity schedule.

Green or Red class program

Everyone loves to play outside when attending an outdoor camp; finally have the occasion to get out of the class room to the outdoors and get to breathe some clean, fresh air.

Principal activities exercised during the spring or fall sessions hover around 3 main areas:

• the beach and its’ equipment: canoes, pedal boats, lake Kayaks, voyageur canoes and canoeing techniques.
• the forest and its’ assets: hikes on our nature and geological interpretation trails, interpretations of the beaver and cycle rides on courses
• large group playgrounds: volleyball, tennis, shuffleboard, soccer, basketball, horse-shoe and ultimate Frisbee

…..and of course, let’s not forget our bonfires on the beach.

École de Neige program

White snow and crystal clear sounds act as recreation for hibernating students.

Principal activities exercised during the winter season unfold outside in the snow.

These activities include:

• cross-country skiing as soon as you arrive the first day, while wearing a helmet that we provide each student upon arrival.

Then come the alternating group activities:

• aluminum snow shoeing by groups of up to 60 people
• broomball, hockey and skating (we have a certain amount of skates to bail out) with certified F2040 netted helmets.
• tubing with tuning helmets

Days are moving along? Red cheeks galore? Wait! It’s not all. We even have evening activities planned and organized for your school.

• 1^st night: tubing while illuminated by an outdoor bonfire and a warm fire inside our log cabin
• 2^nd night: A disco dance with Gerry, our DJ
